- A warm and child-friendly environment created with a family’s comfort in mind
- A Pediatric Hospitalist Program that ensures our youngest patients have a dedicated pediatric specialist available to them 24 hours a day, seven days a week
- Expert care during complicated births, in the nursery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and for older children in the regular pediatric unit or ICU
Looking for excellent pediatric care in a child-friendly atmosphere?
Emanuel puts your family first.
We've created a partnership with Valley Children's Medical Group that provides pediatric hospitalists at Emanuel every day. That guarantees that a board-certified pediatrician is always available. We have hospitalists onsite to attend complicated births, care for infants in the nursery and treat young patients in both the regular and intensive care units. Onsite specialists mean fewer children need to be transferred out of the area for care.
What is a hospitalist?
A hospitalist is a doctor dedicated to treating patients in a hospital setting. Pediatric hospitalists are double specialists — trained both in treating children and hospitalized patients. The pediatric hospitalists at Emanuel are affiliated with Children's Hospital Central California in Madera.
Studies have proven that hospitalized patients do better with hospitalists than with their regular doctors. Their familiarity with hospital staff and specialists, as well as with the hospital's policies and procedures, mean that hospitalists can provide the highest quality of care to each patient.
When your child is ready to be discharged, a hospitalist will review and summarize his or her treatment with the pediatrician. This communication helps create a seamless continuity of care. If you do not have a regular pediatrician for your child, your hospitalist and Emanuel’s discharge planner will refer you to a local clinic and coordinate follow-up treatment.
