The Emanuel Physician Center provides primary health care services to residents who currently do not have a physician in Turlock and nearby communities. The center provides a medical home that offers a full array of family practice and preventive medicine services for all ages.

The Turlock office is located at 2121 Colorado Avenue, Suite C near Emanuel Medical Center and is a hospital-operated and managed program.  A second location at 2240 W. Monte Vista Avenue will be opening soon.

The Emanuel Physician Center operates as a typical physician office and patients have easy access to the laboratory, imaging and other hospital services.

Appointments are required at the Emanuel Physician Center and can be made by calling (209) 664-5175.

Your Medical Home

The Emanuel Physician Center is committed to provide patients with a medical home that coordinates all of their care and treatment. The focus is to make sure all patients get the appropriate screenings, education and referrals. Emanuel Physician Center staff will coordinate all patient care. If a patient is seeing an endocrinologist, an oncologist and a pulmonologist, all of the records and treatment will be coordinated by the physician center.

The goal of the Emanuel Physician Center medical home is to provide better quality and health care outcomes for patients and lower the overall health care costs for our patients.

David Canton, D.O., M.P.H., J.D., Medical Director
Dr. Canton is originally from the Kansas City area of Missouri. He attended Olivet Nazarene University and Kansas City University of Health Sciences. He completed his Family Practice residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and a fellowship in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the University of Washington. Prior to being named Medical Director of the Emanuel Physician Center he had an extensive medical career in the United States Army and U.S. Coast Guard. Dr. Canton is Board Certified in Family Practice, Occupational and Environmental Medicine

Edmond Ghahramani, M.D.
Dr. Ghahramani is a Board Certified Family Practice physician who has been with the Emanuel Physician Center since 2007 after he completed his training at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago. He has also been a research physician at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and for Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His professional interests include general Family Practice and Preventive Medicine and Geriatrics. In addition to English, Dr. Ghahramani speaks Persian, Turkish and Assyrian.

Thomas Johnson, M.D.
Dr. Johnson joined the staff of the Emanuel Physician Center in March 2009 after treating patients in his private practice in Turlock for several years. Dr. Johnson received his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley, earned his medical degree from UC Irvine and completed his Family Practice residency at the Ventura County Medical Center. He was a clinical instructor at the UC Davis Nurse Practitioner & Physician Assistant program and for several years served as chairman of the Emanuel Medical Center's Ethics Committee. Dr. Johnson is Board Certified in Family Practice and speaks both Spanish and English.

Roben Oshaneh, M.D.
Turlock Family Practice physician Dr. Oshaneh joined the staff of the Emanuel Physician Center in May 2009 after treating patients in his private practice for several years.  Prior to coming to California, Dr. Oshaneh practiced in Family Practice, Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine in Illinois and Indiana.  He obtained his medical degree from Ege University School of Medicine in Turkey and completed residency in St. Mary's Medical Center in Indiana.  Dr. Oshaneh speaks Assyrian, Turkish, Persian and English.

Dr. Tarpe is Board Certified in Family Practice and recently joined the Emanuel Physician Center's new office located on W. Monte Vista Avenue near Golden State Blvd. in Turlock.  Prior to coming to California, Dr. Tarpe practiced in Illinois and Ohio.  She completed her family medicine residency at St. Jpseph Health Center in Ohio, her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Doctor of Medicine from the First Tashkent Medical School in Uzbekistan. Dr. Tarpe speaks Russian, Uzbeck and English.
