Regional Cancer Services of Emanuel Medical Center presents the following classes leading up to the annual Cancer Awareness Event that will be held on October 15, 2009 featuring author and breast cancer survivor, Kelly Corrigan.

The following classes are all free to the public. Reservations are required for the Yoga and Wellness Presentation on Tuesday, October 13th.

Featured Speaker John Sloop and Serena Davis, Investment Advisors with Pacific Financial Group, will provide practical financial planning tools to help prepare in case of severe illness. Mr. Sloop is a cancer survivor. No reservation needed.

I have cancer. Now what?
October 7, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. - Covenant Village - 2125 N. Olive Avenue - Berg Hall
A panel discussion featuring four cancer patients and a representative from the American Cancer Society. The panel will share practical tips on how to deal with the complex issues that result after you have received a diagnosis of cancer. They will move through the spectrum of their experiences as they went from diagnosis to treatment to eventual recovery. No reservation needed.

Managing the stress of dealing with a severe illness while still managing to live your life

Featured speaker Anne Pingenot, Ph.D. will speak practically about how to manage the stress of such a situation. Women are widely recognized as being the drivers of health care in most families. What happens to the woman when she herself gets sick? Dr. Pingenot is a Professor of Psychology at California State University Stanislaus. No reservation needed.

Yoga and Wellness Presentation
